Ad network enables publishers monetize their sites or blogs, by showing ads over their inventory or "ad-spot" or placements. 7. Chitika
Chitika is a company based out of Westborough, MA and is a primary non-contextual advertisng company. In contextual advertisng, the publisher script filters the website for keywords and returns advertisements based on that keywords. The big difference is, the ads displayed are driven by the visitor’s search query, not directly by the content on a given page. Also, similar to AdSense and other ad networks, you are paid per click, which you’re probably very familiar with.
Chitika allow you customize the colors and the ad sizes, which is similar to AdSense, Chitika is very good for many websites where adsense results are poor. For example, Chitika can show relevant ads for a site with very few text and lot of video content. Likewise, local sites especially do well with Chitika ads than adsense. This is because Chitika scans the search strings that we used to reach the website.
Chitika does not save the ad formats that we already added to our website. So each time we need to add a new ad, we have to go to the chitika control panel. As and when you create an ad, you may save it to another file so that you can reuse it. Chitika might introduce latest features, and if you don’t want to miss that, it is a better idea to add new ads through the control panel.
